We have a unique opportunity for an experienced roaster to join our team, or for someone with extensive coffee knowledge to further their career in the specialty industry.

This position is for an immediate start, and interstate applicants looking to relocate are welcome to apply.

The successful applicant’s duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Roasting coffee to established roast profiles
  • Blending, weighing and packing roasted coffee
  • Operating Probat UG22, P12, P5 and BRZ2 coffee roasters
  • Green weigh out and preparation for production roasting
  • Wholesale order fulfilment and dispatch
  • Online order fulfilment and dispatch
  • Use of Cropster roasting software
  • Testing and cupping of production roasts
  • Developing and improving roast profiles
  • Sample roasting and cupping
  • End of day shut-down procedures
  • Warehouse maintenance and cleaning
  • Equipment maintenance and cleaning
  • Delivery duties as required

We are seeking an experienced coffee roaster to join the production team at our well established and growing coffee roastery in Hobart (Huntingfield).

Priority will be given to applicants with experience in a production roasting environment, including roast profiling and roasting theory, sample roasting, cupping, and quality control.

Training will be provided, however, as a minimum requirement the successful applicant will have recent and extensive experience working in the specialty coffee industry, with a good understanding of coffee science, industry trends and proven sensory evaluation skills.

Excellent communication and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting, kneeling, twisting, bending and reaching).

We’re looking for someone to join our cafe team! Experience is preferred but we are also happy to train the right candidate who is a great fit for our team. If you are looking for a career in hospitality and want to work with one of Hobart’s biggest and most progressive specialty coffee businesses, we’d love to hear from you.


  • Customer Service
  • Greeting and seating of guests
  • Preparing and serving light meals
  • Serving food and/or beverages
  • Receipt of monies
  • Preparation of specialty coffee beverages to a high standard
  • Espresso extraction in accordance with brew recipes managing grind, dose and yield
  • Sensory evaluation of brew recipes
  • Milk texturing and free pouring (free-pour art on every drink)
  • Brewing pour over (V60) and batch brew filter coffee
  • Selling roasted coffee beans to customers
  • Cleaning of coffee area, cafe, tables, dishes and cafe equipment
  • Receiving, storing and distributing goods
  • Start of day and end of day activities
