This is the second year in a row we have recieved a coffee from Mr Gemeda. After its performance last year i couldnt resist putting him down for another release. A special program launched a few years ago in ethiopia allowing farmers to sell directly to exporters instead of being forced through coops. This allows us greater transparancy and the ability to reward farmers and producers for doing excellent work.
Mr Bekele Gemeda is based in Worka village near Gedeb, within the broader Yirgacheffe producing area. This washed lot is depulped the same day as harvest, then fermented around 8 to 12 hours before being fully washed. The coffee is then dried on raised beds until it reaches a stable moisture level, resulting in a clean, vibrant cup profile. Expect flavour notes of Fresh Orange, Nectarine and Brown sugar.
